The Brain Drain from…Mexico?

It’s Happening Right Now

Mexicans are known for their festivities, friendliness, food, music traditions and sadly, crime. I am seeing a trend unfold before my very eyes that gets little-to-no coverage or thought. You may be puzzled that I am talking of a brain drain from Mexico but there is an interesting dynamic playing out right now.

As you’ll read above, it’s not politically correct to say any of this but in prior years those from Mexico who made their way to the United States were those who [back in Mexico] had very little in terms of capital, resources, connections, education and skills. Being surrounded by such poverty, with little-to-no way to climb up the social hierarchy within Mexico, it meant their best opportunity was to head North, even if it was illegal and very dangerous to do so.

Right here it's worth stating that the prior generations of Mexican immigrants, legal or illegal were extremely motivated to work and receive no handouts (in fact, they kept a low profile given their legality status and made an effort to not receive anything from the government). They were a different breed of immigrant who were similar to the Irish or Italians of years prior in terms of their work ethic. Now there are tens of millions of immigrants pouring in because there is a financial incentive to do so. They do not intend to become "American", to contribute, to integrate, to hold the same moral compass as the founders of the nation--instead, they are withdrawing from the Treasury by receiving free food, clothes, cell phones and rent. Okay, back to the main point

If the rather unskilled folks were the ones who went North, than those who had stayed behind were the opposite. That is, the people with the capital, the resources, the connections, the education & brains, the money in the walls as it were who were able to navigate the craziness of the country. Did they like the way things were? Probably not, but they were living well. Mexico can offer a great life for some.

Mexico is experiencing one of their most violent years yet. There has never been this many homicides, missing females, acts of theft, extortion and violence in its history–yet Mexicans (I can attest to this) are quick to brush it off as being “ah, another day in Mexico”–but it's not another day in Mexico.

Members know that I do a deep dive with Mexico with respect to its security situation, what Mexicans are saying on the ground and what I see with my own eyes. While I am writing arguing something huge is coming for Mexico (subscribe to not miss it), it doesn’t take an investigative type of person, rather just an open-mind with clear eyes to see that Mexico is currently experiencing paramilitary forces that are conquering the nation right now.

Rather than the status quo of crime that gets murderous if necessary, Mexico has gone into a full-stage warfare of hyperviolence that seeks to add every single potential commodity under the grasp of the Cartels. When we think of “cartels” we think of cocaine, fentanyl, weed; and we don’t think of oil, avocados, tequila, hotels and livestock. This conquestador act over anything that produces has been immensely rapid, sophisticated and has touched nearly every state.

The Brain Drain

I began writing about this because it would just so happen that I’ve encountered about a half dozen stories within my vicinity relating to people eager to make a move from Mexico. This included businessman, foreigners already settled, young students, activist types and people who are generally unhappy about their prospects in the country or the weakening peso.

For reasons stated above, plus a communist in Mexico City who has gone full woke with their constitution, spending money they don’t have (on marxists ideas) with anti-business policies–some are seeing the writing on the wall.

The rhetoric from AMLO and now Sheinbaum has been increasingly anti-USA (firing the Ambassador recently, delaying congratulating Trump on his 2024 victory and demanding absurd amounts of money as part of NAFTA) and increasingly pro-communist (recognizing Maduro as the legitimate winner in Venezuela, being pro Ortega in Nicaragua and more recently their oil acts with Cuba) lately. To add, food shortages have already occurred in the Yucatan Peninsula, and price controls are coming to a severe degree on basic items that impacts all Mexicans. Mining companies have been stuck in between “wait and see” mode and active lawsuits. Lithium deposits have been nationalized and about a dozen of tax loopholes have been closed (it’s truly difficult to navigate the Mexican tax landscape).

You probably missed this info: PEMEX, Mexico’s largest oil and gas producer had an 800M USD line of credit active with a major US dealer bank.
This was crucial given the oil deposits producing less and less in recent years and common theft from cartels

However, since Claudia played politics and gave 1M barrels of oil to Cuba to support them during their communist collapse, gratis, this has given the creditors an excuse to say “well, Mexico, you’re wealthy, you have oil to give away for heavens sake” and they’ve cancelled the loan

Another example of communists having absolute no economic understanding. As I write this, diesel prices are scheduled to rise on Monday, expectedly.

I am aware first hand of American corporations trading on the New York Stock Exchange that are cutting operations in Mexico and aiming for better security in Southeast Asia (91% of big business in Mexico is are foreign companies who Mexico is not being so friendly lately). Not to mention, the absolutely doctored statistics coming from government that paints a rosier picture of the economic situation in the country (more on this in future articles).

Needless to say, combined with the criminal advancements both physically and technically across the country, the smartest are planning their immediate escape.

When the going gets tough, the tough get going

If it’s so bad, why aren’t more escaping

Shockingly, Mexicans do not truly know how bad it is. That’s a tall claim for someone who’s basically on primary school Spanish–but I believe it to be true for three main reasons:

• Simply, they don’t know English. Mexico, despite being close to the United States by not only geography but by blood and history, are quite terrible at English. The best in my experience has been Panama or Argentina. Most of the high-level crime analysis that occurs is published and discussed in English. Which leads me to the second point
• You’d think that the natural report forms would be in Spanish given that’s the country. However that doesn’t arrive to their eyes and ears neither. It’s simply too dangerous to report the truth in Mexico. Journalists are often killed or at least threatened when discussing certain points to the degree which they self-censor and just report the football game score a second time instead. You’ll notice I’m not naming names for a reason (subscribe to find out; currently a discount offer).
• Who are we talking about? Those with resources, connections, information, knowledge–those without these (or perhaps an eagerness to acquire them) features are simply not exposed to ample information for them to make informed decisions. I’ve said in a previous article, Mexico is a raw place. Liberalism dies quickly in this country.
  
  Simply put, the information is not obtained by everyone; TikTok, Facebook and Instagram are much better draws.

91% of all big businesses in Mexico are from foreign companies. If they stay, it’s because we get paid in a dying currency, if they leave, it means we have no jobs and many will take up work for criminal gangs

Closing

Let me create a prediction (if you have a prediction of your own click the button below): Mexicans will continue to leave their country, but it will not be the same crowd who had left in decades prior. Instead, these people will be the sorts who drive Mercedes-Benz, who have some cash in the bank, a rental property and a family of their own going to private schools.

This is the crowd who is most exposed to information, English and has a better understanding of the consequences of anti-business socialist philosophies. They will (and are) taking active steps to try to mitigate safety problems and shield their wealth and I sincerely believe that the majority will end up leaving Mexico as the best way to do this. Family is a huge cultural draw in Mexico, once a few know that they have family abroad they’ll be more likely to join them too which will speed up the brain drain of the country.
