No More Excuses for Not Leaving

Open Door Consultancy: It’s Time to TAKE ACTION

For whichever reason, there’s definitely the idea (particularly amongst Canadians and Americans I would say) that a place is off-limits because of a certain President, Prime Minister or “leaning political party” that is in office in a country that they’re interested in or they host a specific event, etc.

“I like there but “XXX” is President”

“We were going to move but the lefties/righties are in power”

Or some change they’ve noticed remarked on social media:

“We were going to buy a house on the water but I see they’re changing school curriculum”.

I’ve literally spoken to people complaining about childhood vaccines who were both retired with no children in the picture.

1. People have turned Hollywood into their own life and planted themselves as a character in that drama, under the illusion that they will be interacting with the Prime Minister of the country

They’ve essentially created a niche type of drama series or novella

This has allowed them to say “I like them, I listen to them, I dislike them, I hear they did a podcast together, I think they live there, that person said that country is ugly…and so on”. When people speak like this, it sounds like a weird offshore rendition of Gossip Girl as their own entertainment.

2. It provides the perfect grounds as an excuse to stay put and do nothing–by justifying your lack of action as some other external fault that was out of one’s control. “I wanted to go but…”

3. It speaks to the ignorance of other countries. Mexico literally has a jewish, communist, green’y woman, heavily affiliated with narcos and up until recently, there’s zero difference compared to the last President . It doesn’t matter in some countries. Furthermore, many don’t seem to understand that even the most anti-business administrations usually leave certain sectors unscathed (agriculture, insurance, finance). Communist Cuba keeps their resorts going for instance.

I believe that there’s been an inability to grapple with the reality that there’s evil people who exist and they want to rob, cheat and kill you. Some people believe the world is more gentle, like petting Golden Retrievers while ignoring the fact that 99% of governments and many people are crocodiles that are going to eat you

4. Politics is engrained into everyday society in the West in such an extent, it’s difficult to unplug from it, and plug it back in elsewhere to hear silence. People view a country through it’s political class rather than it’s business class or educated circles because the political class is the only one that matters in the spotlight in a place like USA, UK, Canada, etc.

5. Ignorance does not = impossible to be done. Many times people will not know what’s required when doing something, say, bringing a pet with them or booking a private jet, so they simply will deem it impossible and do nothing. Another excuse of giving up.

6. Lastly, it appears that the “get everything you’ve ever asked for” in life has gotten to people’s heads. So much so, they compare themselves to people like Bill Gates, Peter Thiel, Carlos Slim, etc. Not that these are guys you’d want to have a beer with, but they are extraordinary in their own ways. It’s genuinely rare to encounter a billionaire, let alone a multi-billionaire and who is incredibly public. To therefore use this person and say “they bought a villa there so the idea of moving there for part of the year sickens me” equates themselves as being on the same level, to some degree, as these extraordinary people who I guarantee have no regard for you and I. This ties into the 2nd point, that it’s merely fishing for an excuse. “It wasn’t my fault we’re stuck here, Soros bought land there, there was no way I could leave after that!”

Somebody ought to do something!! which translates to, somebody (anybody but me) should change the thing I don’t like (for me)

Closing

Now’s the time to be making extremely exciting changes that will hopefully last for generations and generations for the better. We are going to see a major turnover of populations, people, systems, economies and colors on the map. If we stay still like a plant, we’re guaranteed to get crushed–but if we go with the flow there are major opportunities ahead of us.

Over the years, I’m not sure if it’s Spanish novellas, MTV or endless credit cards and beach resorts, but there’s a whole population who have entered into this offshore and nomadic world through the lens of drama. They’ve used the characters, rules, changes and details as a means of their own entertainment and their self-gratification as feeling important relative to others–as it stands now, millions will miss the forest for the trees and end up trapped because they never realized their drama series was based on a true story.

That true story, is one with predators like in Peter Pan who are gaining ground on us and like Hook, have a taste for us. Eventually, it’s only a matter of time until it will eat us all and everything we hold dear, unless we wake up to the severity of this reality.

The strategy of delaying, excusing and playing drama class is fragile at best, that only leads to inaction and sorry results (what happened to those Russians who stayed after 1917?). The days of living life like a movie are over. It’s time to get serious if you want to protect your wealth, plan for the future generation, live more affordably and escape harm’s way. No More Excuses.
