Weekly Weigh In: USA Crumbling, Honda Cancelled Reminder to Hit Your Plan B
Normally, I cover a bit of news around the world that I see, perhaps comment on some company’s stocks, a little bit of my own travels–but this week I’ve been bombarded with news that just screams economic calamity for the United States.

- JetBlue and Frontier Airlines now flirting with shutting down, too.
- PayPal plans to cut 20% of its workforce over the next 2-3 years.
- Ford sold 160k F-Series trucks in Q1 (down from 190k in Q1 ’25)’ That’s -16%
- PEOPLE WHO OWE MORE THAN THEIR CAR VALUE NOW OWE ABOUT $7,200 ON AVERAGE IN Q1 2026
- Nearly 80% of U.S. hoteliers in 11 World Cup host cities say bookings are tracking below original forecasts, with some describing the tournament as a “non-event,” according to an American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) survey of members released Monday
- 81 percent of young Americans say economic conditions are bad or terrible
- Gas around 6 dollars a gallon in Illinois
Despite this…we’re still seeing a trend.
Honda Plant Cancelled (Canada)
The Honda plant was part of the failed $52B Liberal plan to shower manufacturers with subsidies to develop the industry here. Honda will make EVs and hybrids it needs in Ohio instead where it can do so on one production line.
Military Grade is Cancelled, Too
Louise Arbour, 79, is set to become the King’s representative and serve as commander–in–chief of Canada’s Armed Forces
What type of character is this?
She’s previously said to have urged the Canadian Armed Forces to take after advocacy groups for more diversity in the military.
“If you just recruit white boys who like guns but don’t like women or anybody who doesn’t look like them, you’ll perpetuate that [incorrect] culture”.
Canada is being ripped from limb to limb.
