Weekly Weigh In: Air Accident, Nuclear Continues Eastward, Thailand Panics, VPN Hack, Morning Fuel and Crypto Carnage
A reminder that it wouldn’t be a bad idea to stock up on a little more petrol, food, batteries–or better yet, prepare yourself to move to a more safe location amid future supply shortages.

Additional Reasons?

Russia officially signs deal with Vietnam to build its first nuclear power plant–and who do you think is going to supply the uranium for that plant?
Perhaps this is a reason to continue to explore Kazatomprom shares in one’s portfolio.
The fuel shortage begins to hit Thailand after hitting Vietnam
I believe that since Thailand is reliant upon gas for their economy that this problem is shaping up quickly…but if problems happen with Indonesia and they decide to stop exports of coal again–then this will be a 1-2 punch combo that will impact 100s of millions, especially in the emerging world.

Couldn’t Believe It
Speaking of traveling…and the world going to the dogs, I genuinely couldn’t believe this when I found out it was real…A fellow put his VPN set to Israel and requested a flight seat upgrade, claiming he was Jewish.

After doing some more searches…look…

Lufthansa got their ass handed to them on social media after this began to circulate. Serves them right.
Coffee is down as of trading on Friday and sits down around 22% Year over Year. However if we zoom out we can see that there’s a whole new baseline set for our cup of joe

I predict this will only get worse as exports of high quality coffee from Vietnam begins to wane onto global markets. Last I heard from anyone in Costa Rica (although this is only a small percentage of overall global coffee production), there were problems given a lack of reinvestment into new plants, many farmers not earning much and a glut of knowledgeable workers (since so many took advantage of the open US border.
Perhaps coffee will be an interesting investment over the long term.
A reminder that we’re entering into another liquidity crunch after looking at crypto markets lately…
