Our Backwards World
We are constantly told to trust the governments who seek to rule us with the most important facets of our lives & yet;
They have yet to provide a single reason why they are (or ever have been) trustworthy
We know the ill effects of smoking and have known them for a number of years & yet;
Almost of billion of us on the planet are deemed smokers
Millions are seeking stability & strict rules in 1st world countries & yet;
Some more millions are seeking freedom & chaos in 3rd world countries
For the first time ever we have the ability to pierce the skies to land on pretty much any territory we please & yet;
We cannot find those same territories on a map nor are aware of their existence
We’re being reminded daily of the history of bubbles while risking our investments & yet;
They continue to form around us, in all sectors, in all countries
We have never had this level of sophistication with respect to health science & yet;
Most of the world is split between starving or obese
We know that centralized economies fail economically and produce catastrophic events & yet;
This is the primary lesson taught in schools to our children
We have the most sophisticated technology ever utilized when it comes to film making & yet;
The most successful films produced are shallow, meaningless and uninspiring
Slavery exists in many parts of the world today officially and unofficially & yet;
We can’t seem to forget about events done by people all of whom are now dead
We expect partners to open-up, be themselves and make the first move & yet;
We cry that they run the risk of harassment & assault when they do
Africa is nothing but an abundance of minerals and resources & yet;
Africans are running the risk of collapsing back to the 18th century
Research and Development is packed with some of the most intelligent people on the planet & yet;
We crush their ideas and aspirations using regulations, committees and politics of journal submissions
We dread the thought about snow, cold weather and upcoming winter months & yet;
Never make a single move to relocate to known warmer climates
We depend more on food consumption than anything else for survival & yet;
Nobody knows how to raise animals, farm agriculture or grow edible plants
We have computers in our pockets that give us the intelligence of a god & yet;
We use them for a dopamine rush of instant gratification
We work our entire lives to be able to afford and own a piece of private property & yet;
An impulsive exclamation appears when mentioning tools used to defend such property
We take out 10s of thousands of dollars in debt in which you cannot declare bankruptcy on & yet;
The result forces us to take on unwanted employment for the sole purpose of paying off those debts
Everything we interact with is a product of energy input, most of which is achieved using fossil fuels & yet;
We long for the day without the existence of fossil fuels
Never have this many people lived on our planet & yet;
it’s quite difficult for people to find a suitable partner for a long-term relationship
