How to get Residency in Saba (Netherlands)!

The Unknown Jewel of the Caribbean

Please click my link above to go over my thorough overview, anecdotes, meetings, research and history of the island of Saba; it’s very investigative. To catch your attention here are some immediate benefits of Saba and amazingly, it goes unmissed

Residency Changes

New rules for residency and work on Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba (commonly known as the BES) are in effect. These changes are necessary due to the increase in the minimum wage and to ensure that the income requirements align with the current government-declared standard of living and cost of living.

First, for employment-related residency purposes, the gross income must be at least equal to the new minimum wage. As of July 1, this amount is $1,750.67 USD. This would apply if you were self-employed or moving to the island to take up employment.

Second, for family reunification, adopted and foster children, and retirees (I’d argue this is the most common category people find themselves in), the required income is increased to 120% of the minimum wage, which equals about $2,100.80 USD per month in 2024.

For applications for children not born in the Caribbean Netherlands, a requirement exists of 140% of the minimum wage, or around $2,450.94 USD per month applies.

If one stands as a guarantor for the first person, they must have an income of 120% of the minimum wage. If one stands as a guarantor for two or more people (such as children), they must meet an income requirement of 140% of the minimum wage.
