Here are the most relevant and significant bits of analysis I walked away from the latest report on the demographic changes in front of our eyes in Europe.
1) Europe as witnessed 2,000,000 excess deaths in the Union from 2020-2024 (I wonder why…)
2) Slovakia is the ONLY (including EEA states) that has a decrease in immigrants (foreigners) over the last 5-10 years. We can assume these people to be of non-European origin.
3) Germany, Netherlands and Belgium are packed with people and it’s only getting more tight. These countries top the Union by averaging 237-518 people per km2
4) The Average age increasing, with fewer aged 15 and under with marriages and births falling off a cliff
5) Of those who do give birth, they’re increasingly older women
6) 7M new immigrants came in 2022 alone (legally); Of these, 60% of these lived in Germany, Spain, France and Italy, respectively by weighting
7) Romanians, Italians, Polish, Portuguese, Bulgars love moving to another EU state while Maltese and Cypriots like to stay

8) The EU is handing out citizenships to everybody but Europeans with the exception of Ukrainians or obvious descent claims (Serbs becoming Slovene; Croats becoming Bosnian, etc.)–>Contact me for the top 3 locations of citizen given each European country.
9) 1/4 children born in the EU were born to people who they themselves were not born in the EU (Luxembourg and Cyprus are highest percentages; Slovakia and Bulgaria are lowest)
10) Major takeaways from the citizenship gains are:
- Turks are gaining Bulgarian citizenship
- Every Baltic state registers the country of origin to be “stateless” before granting citizenship
- Albanians are basically the only ones receiving Greek citizenship
- Syrians, Moroccans, Pakistanis are common in the rankings
- Malta is the only EU state granting citizenship to an East Asian location (China)
11) Every country is below replacement (fertility); France is the best (1.79) (Flynn effect from Africans) with Spain and Malta are the worst (close 1.05)
12) 42% births are outside of marriage in the EU; 9 EU countries hold this number greater than 50%. No explanation is provided on why this trend is changing
13) Despite a 4% increase in the last 20 years in population:
Croatia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland & Romania all have had steep decreases in their population lately. Some countries have witnessed volatility, but all of these have descending trends.
