Mexican Presidents Are Some Of TheWorst…
In an unprecedented move, Mexican President Lopez Obrador has decided to “pause” relations with the embassies of the United States and Canada.
According to the President, before leaving office he has based this decision from his dissatisfaction with the criticisms expressed by both countries regarding Mexico’s Judicial Reform, which would gut every single Supreme Court Justice and Federal Judge. Of course, Canada and United States have a right to be upset given the number of multinational corporations they operate or trade with in their own economies.
He clarified added that this wasn’t a severance of relations with the governments of these countries, but a suspension of interactions with their embassies. This has immense impacts on travellers seeking immigration procedures between the countries; something that is quite common and brings an immense amount of employment and foreign investment.
What’s Going On?
The Mexico-US relationship has never been “paused” in decades. It was never “paused” during the worst Trump threats to close the border, application of tariffs, or threats to send “kills squads” for the cartels. Nor was there any blowback after AMLO requested a huge amount of money following a NAFTA meeting last year.
Mexico has increasingly taken an aggressive stance with its foreign policy particular with respect to foreign investors and businesses. Mexico’s economy has exploded during the 2020 scamdemic given the amount of travellers and settlers they experienced, but the government’s insistence to penalize and destroy this productivity is apparent.
It feels as though an unnecessary shoving match is developing; with the rise of the magnitude of the narcos, China, multinational corporations and a far-left communist Mexican president due (who is anti-mining) and Mexico’s peso falling, Mexico could witness a number of economic screwballs come their way. Its difficult to see the relationship not deteriorate when Mexico City is not willing to play nice for seemingly no reason.
Pesos
The Peso has done nothing but fall since the election victory of Claudia Sheinbaum, Mexicans have now lost around 14% of their purchasing power against the dollar.
Mexico Updates
I have four articles that are coming up with respect to Mexico. They relate to the following:
- Cartels are bigger and smarter than what people think
- Their next target is not drugs, human smuggling or guns… It is __________
- USA cannot go to war with Mexico and expect to come out alive
- Eventually, Mexico is heading towards a Civil War anyway
